چکیده

There have been several studies on the kinetics of . oxygen uptake (VO2) responding to impulse work (Bakker et al., 1980; Hughson et al., 1988; Swanson, 1990; Whipp and Ward, 1991), and it has been demonstrated . that VO2 is composed of two components (phase I and phase II). With regard to these components, Hughson et al. (1988) have suggested that phase I reflects an immediate increase in pulmonary blood flow and phase II reflects . tissue VO2. However, this inference is derived only from . an analysis of VO2 kinetics and not from correspondence to the oxygen consumption in working muscles. It has recently become possible to noninvasively and continuously measure the kinetics of O2 in working muscles due to the development of near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) (Chance et al., 1992; Kuwamori et al., 1995; Homma et al., 1992). In this study, by comparing the change in deoxygenated hemoglobin (deoxy Hb) in the working muscle using NIRS during . impulse work with the change in VO2, we reexamined the hypothesis proposed by Hughson et al. (1988).

Kinetics of oxygenation in inactive forearm muscle during ramp leg cycling.

This study was carried out to determine whether hemodynamics in inactive forearm muscle during ramp leg cycling is affected from the ventilatory threshold (VT) and respiratory compensation point (RCP), at which the rate of increase in ventilation (VE) against power output begins to increase abruptly. Change in hemodynamics was evaluated by change in oxygenation index (difference between concent...

Kinetics of mixed venous CO2 pressure in constant-load exercise.

We have studied the kinetics of mixed venous C02 pressure (Pi-,co2) at constant work rates of 300, 450 and 600 kpmlmin (Yano, 1986). The PVco, increased at the onset of exercise, and reached a steady state at 300 and 450 kpmlmin. However, at 600 kpmlmin, the PVco2 indicated a relatively high steady state in comparison with those at other work rates, and decreased after 5 min of exercise. This o...

Body temperature, oxygen uptake and heart rate during walking in water and on land at an exercise intensity based on RPE in elderly men.

The purpose of this study was to clarify the characteristics of the physiological response that occurs while walking in water and on land at an exercise intensity based on the rating of perceived exertion (RPE) in elderly men. Nine elderly men ranging from 66-70 years of age participated in this study as subjects. The actual trials consisted of walking for 20 minutes in 31 degrees C and 35 degr...

Time-dependent Effects of High Intensity Interval Training on Oxygen Kinetics in Females

Background. Because VO2max doesn’t provide any detailed information about aerobic examinations Oxygen Kinetic is used for more accuracy. Long intensive and repetitive exercises with sufficient time lead to increase in aerobic parameters like kinetic absorption of oxygen. Objectives. The purpose of this study was to determine time dependent effects of short-time high intensity interval...

Experiment of nitrox saturation diving with trimix excursion.

Depth limitations to diving operation with air as the breathing gas are well known: air density, oxygen toxicity, nitrogen narcosis and requirement for decompression. The main objectives of our experiment were to assess the decompression, counterdiffusion and performance aspect of helium-nitrogen-oxygen excursions from nitrox saturation. The experiment was carried out in a wet diving stimulator...
